Location, location, location
Don't know what some are afraid of by not posting their location in their profile. Would make some of the threads shorter and get business done faster. Don't mind long drives for something worthwhile, but would be nice to know at the beginning whether I am interested in picking it up or delivering my part - by looking at their location.
Stepping off the box now. Thanks.

I CONCUR! It should be mandatory IMHO, LOL! Seriously though, I can honestly say that I do not respond to some posts because of that reason.

Location is a good thing also as people like to know where other members are.
It is not like posting an address and it helps in knowing where parts are if you want to go pick them up as has been mentioned. Jim |

I liked the thread that started last week about putting in your sig about:
city and state zip code (for shiiping reasons) who you like to do most of your shipping with. I have notice a few members starting to do this. It cuts out a lot of unneeded posting.

Is putting in your location mandatory for signing up on the forum?
I think I actually had to go back in and put my city into my profile. Hell, it took me several days to find how to get into my profile or check PM's. With the skin used on this forum, the menu blends in and you can't find it very easily. Also - the titles of the menu like "User CP" don't really make much sense unless you use forums all the time. Most new users probably sit there and think, "WTF is a CP?" - and that's only if they actually see the dang thing If you want people to use the location, you need to force them to do so on signup and/or make the links to the user control panel more obvious and/or adjust the 'autoreply' message you rec'v on account approval to say "Click this link to login and finish setting up your profile. Remember to put your city and state in your profile!" Just my 2ยข
