Steering Column, and Trans Linkage.

My 1972 Cheyenne 10 is a 350/Th350 combo, with a non tilt column, freshly painted.

Anyway my problem is that when I try to pull the gear shift back to select a gear it take quite a pull to get it to go allow the shifter to move. What may be my problem, dirt in there? Also how does the gear shift selector come of the column? Is it a rivit the needs to be drilled? Also if somebody may have a pic of how it is put together or page number in the assembly manual. Thanks

Jamie
