Exhaust exit

My son did a 5/8 drop on his 71 longbed. He wants to run his exhaust out in front of the rear tires. Has anybody ever notched out the body so that the exhaust tips fit within the body lines or does anybody have any pictures of it done like this. I know Ford Lightnings are like this but I am really looking to see what it looks like on a fleetside truck. Just trying to keep things from dragging

I have seen a couple and i mean very few done this way. One truck i saw was on the classictruck magazine website. Stylin concept seels the lightning style exhaust tips and they are pricey at around $200 per side. Also just FYI the lightning exits on only one side of the truck and ive only seen it on stepsides.

Thats the truck that Tim Allen bought at Barrett-Jackson. I think it has 5 inch exhaust. Must be some kind of wild ride.

DON'T NOTCH IT, GO TO ANY REPUTABLE EXHAUST SHOP AND ASK TO
SEE A SET OF "SS" CAMARO TIPS FROM THE 00 BODY STYLES, IT'S A
EQUIVALENT TO A 3" ROUND AND IT IS LIKE 1.5 HIGH X 6.0 WIDE.

(ALL EXHAUST MEASUREMENTS AND BODY YEARS STATED COULD BE
DIFFERENT FROM WHAT IS POSTED, THE POSTEE IS IN NO WAY ANY
KIND OF A EXPERT OR NO IT ALL ON THIS SUBJECT, HOWEVER, USED
TO WORK AT A MUFFLER AND BRAKE SHOP PART TIME 00-03. )

Please don't put Camaro tip on it. (Sorry I just have never liked those tips). If I had one of those cars, the square tips would be the first thing to go.

I saw Trucks last weekend, it was a repeat, but Stacy put some exhaust tips on that Lil Red Wagon project. The tips came out just behind the rear tires. I've attached the only picture that I could find. Stacy is cutting the hole in the bed for the chrome tips.

Just run pipes at same angle as slash-cuts(if you want them chrome/stainless),then trace on body and cut carefully.Leave some clearance for body to frame movement. No pics, but I`ve seen it done.I think it`ll look cool!I like that truck,it`s different.
