How do you tell a BB truck with the motor and trans out?

How can I tell if the truck came out with a BB or not? The truck I'm looking at now has the motor out and the owner says it had the BB but how do I tell for sure? Thanks for the help Joker69

The truck should also have a big transmission hump in the floor.

Frame mounts for big block should be different from small block mounts.

Heavier springs on front end for 1/2 ton trucks.

There is a rumor going around that sometimes there
is a build sheet hidden within the seat if it still has the factory seat.
You might want to confirm this.

Still the easiest way to confirm is the Glove box option sheet but it could have been with a big block truck to increase the value.
See if the numbers on the Glove box sheet match the frame and body id tags.

Good Luck

BB ??

Check to see if power steering pump reservoir is maybe still mounted to the drivers fender? / or there should at least be mounting holes for one. This assumes it had PS , but any BB trucks I owned did.

They would actually be 400 badges or 396 if anything else.
Other subtle clues would be a remote reservoir for the power steering pump mounted to the drivers fender or a heat shield mounted to the angled part of the floor right below the heater core. It should be approximately 4"x12" and bolts on from inside the cab. If the fan shroud is around, it doesn't look anything like a small block 2wd or 4wd. That's all I can think of that hasn't been covered already.
