Reverse leaf springs

Can someone explain to me the process of moving leaf springs from top of axle to the bottom with pros and cons?

Do I loose any suspension capacity?

Possible on 3/4 ton?

Anyone done the rear leaf spring flip?

I know there are a lot of GMC guys out there (and a few chevys). Anyone going to share experiences on flipping rear leafs to other side of axle?
