uhhh, could be, how would i check that? i brought it around to what i assumed was tdc...
piston seemed to be up top... i should of checked the position of the rotor on the old distributor but i didn't... it's backfiring a little bit (loud), but don't wanna start...

ummmmmmmm.....I usually take out #1 plug and stick your finger over the plug hole, while you (with a remote button) or someone else bumps the engine over. When you feel the rush of air blow out the hole, the rotor button should then be pointing in the general direction of the #1 cylinder. If it is aiming to the back, then it is 180 degrees out.....Although you can realisticly put number 1 where ever you want it, this is generally the way it should work.........hope this helps

Bring the number one piston to TDC on the compression stroke (pull the number one plug and you should feel air pushing out of the hole as you come to TDC). Pull the cap off and check the position of the rotor. Does it line up with the number one spark plug wire? If not, you will need to lift the distributor and turn it so that it lines up.
ok........I guess you got it.......lol
