Drip Rail Problems
Has anyone had any luck or even tried to use the reproduction drip rails? The way I see it, if I have to cut them off I might as well just shave them...right? How much fabrication are we talking about here? Which would be more involved?

removing your drip rails is a very involved process.. There's much cutting, welding & fabricating. Unless you have LOTS of experience you could very easily ruin your cab. There's like 3 layers of metal ( outer cab , inner cab, windsheild components) that all meet at the front of your roof. By simply cutting these all at once and your cab would collapse. Also, the drip rails on the sides disguise the fact that your door frame and the top of the roof are a long way from linning up. Be careful!!!! I was thinking the same thing as you, till I saw an article in a truck magazine .. I was stunned at how much work it is to do a proper job.

The drip rails on either side around door are spot welded in place and spot welds should be drilled out to remove them no cutting of metal is involved in the side drip rails to remove & replace.
