I know this has been asked a million times, but with the search down I can't find the answer. I never bothered to read any threads on it either. After seeing Gman69's sweet seats and tilt at the PF show I'm interested in a tilt. What year van do I need to look for at the junk yard and what all do I need off of it. I've read the FAQ's about the install I just can't find the year range.

IÂ´m not sure but I think the years to look for is 72-81.

main thing is make sure it has the ignition switch on the dash, mine came out of a 79.

GMan's tilt is an actual truck tilt. We bought a pair of them and he got the truck one and I got the van one. As already mentioned, just as long as the ignition is not on the column, you shoud be okay.
So you like that seat, huh? Come on over for a visit and we can hook you up with the seat (really cheap @ local yard) and the install, too. (He copied off of my seat by the way!!!! Sorry to dime you out, GMan).

Are you running a fleet or step bed? I will tell you why once I know.

Putter, I have a stepside. I already have a pair of 2000 buckets with the integrated seatbelts. I know some big/tall guys have had problems with them and George's truck was the only truck I've seen in person with a different seat (at least the ones in question).

What are you doing about the rear end? Running a bumper or not. The reason....I have built a new roll pan for mine and want to see if anyone else has interest in it. I have contacted Sir Michael's to see if I can get it produced in quantity. It is NOT the one that goes under the tailgate. I personally don't like those. Mine goes under the bed and runs from fender to fender. It really cleans up the appearance. It covers the tails of the frame rail and gives it a clean line. I will try and get some pictures for you to look at.

I run motorhome tilts. They are like van tilts, but usually the exact length as a truck unit and don't require shortening the intermediate shaft like a van does. Like was said, make sure the switch was on the dash and you're good to go.

Here, most junkyards have an old ghetto motorhome or two in them. They aren't usually stripped for parts as bad as vans are.
