Gas cap question
Just put a cab tank from a 67 into my 72 c-20. I have a question about the gas cap. I am using an old one my dad had laying around, and every time I turn right with a full tank, a small fortune in gas pours down the side of the truck. Will a new cap do this? The truck didn't have a cab tank in it when I got it, so I really have no experience with them.
Question two, since it's a 67 tank, the only holes in it are for the filler and the sender. Do I need to get a vented cap? I would think so, but thought I would ask and make sure.

Your "old" cap probably has a dry rotted shrunken gasket on it.

I agree, you probably have a dry rotted gasket. In the past I have cut out gaskets from cork or other comparable gasket material and just replaced them myself. Sometimes you may need to stack up 2. Easy cheap fix that worked pretty well for me. Good luck trying to save the precious liquid.
