Window regulator question ?
I have been away from the board and I see the "search" function is no longer active. My K5 is finished except for the door rebuilds. I am going with new regulators, latch controls, ect. Where should I start and any hints ?
Thanks, Bret

Are your regulators completely trashed? I would rebuild or buy good used before I went for aftermarket ones. When I first got my truck I got talked into repops by ECE they were so bad I took them back and rebuilt my old ones, they work great.
Unless the latch controls are broken they should be fine. The biggest problem I have found is the outside handles there is a flimsy piece in there thats bends and breaks over time. Unless someone else has a secret tip plan on the regulator install to be a PIA. Rebuilding the vent windows can be difficult but doable, another set of hands helps. The one I got didnt really work at all. I have found that with ECE they are nice people, but a lot of the parts they sell dont always fit reall well.

Was the regulator the only thing you got that didn't fit, or has it been multiple things? I've gotten parts from most anywhere that have had problems. My grandpa used to work at GM in repairs. That's right, repairs. He would have to work on and fix cars before they were ever even shipped to the dealers. Parts aren't perfect 100% of the time. Todd
