Electrical Problem: Dash and Interior Lights
I am in the process of reassembling my truck, anyway I had the dash and interior lights all working and went out again, now none work. I have been connecting and disconecting the battery regulary. I think my problem may be in the light switch. When I turn it to turn the interior light doesn't come on, and when it is pull out for headlights they come on but the dash lights don't. Does the light switch sound like the correct option. Also I didn't see blown fuse except the taillight fuse. Thanks

Silly question, but is the headlight knob twisted nearly all the way counterclockwise? Just want to make sure the knob isn't twisted clockwise, which dims the dash lights.

This sounds very similar to the problem I recently had with my '67 C/10. I yanked out every fuse and replaced them whether they looked good or not and still had the problem. Poking around under the dash one day, I accidently bumped the black ground wire (comes from instument panel cluster) under the dash that CLIPS on to the metal dash -- near the center of the dash. It was not grounding properly. I drilled a hole and put a screw in it and have had all my electrical working great ever since. Why GM made that ground wire clip on instead of being screwed into the dash is a mystery to me??? I checked my '70 C/10 and it is clipped on too...

Problem Fixed
I changed the steering column electrical and I pinched the white wire to ground. Anyway after I pulled the switch end out I taped the white wire and put it back together carefully. I guess the labeled fuse box i got just isn't complete, since i was thinking for the light switch. Thanks jef5150, pjmoreland, and Tim for your help. Jef5150, the parklamps weren't on the truck so I put them back on. That helped alot it the trouble shooting. Tim, I see the clip you are talking about. It is good and tight now but i;ll keep an eye on it. Now to go get ie fired up with a water pump running. First time i may have it running for longer than a minute. Thanks again
