Any low cost alternative to door weatherstripping? I need to replace a piece on a truck I'm selling, but don't want to put another 50.00 from Year One into this truck.....I'll be lucky to get out what I've already put into it, but its a pretty nice truck, but the door weatherstripping is missing altogether....The paint shop couldn't get it off w/out ruining it because someone had glued it in previously.

S-10 truck/Blazer weatherstrip is soooo much nicer than the factory glue on type!. It's heavier duty and it presses in place so you can remove it (for a paint job) then reinstall it. The 71' I am working on had this installed by the former owner and I'm sold on it now. There have been alot of posts about it. It's always available at the junkyard if you are on a really tight budget.

Will any year S-10 weatherstripping work?

Also is it more or less expensive than ordering exact replacement weatherstripping for our trucks from Year One, LMC, Summit or other such companies.

I put a set few weeks ago, fitted right on. The problem since then is that door shut very hard. It seems it needs some break in period but in exchange when they are shut you don't hear any noise from outside. I got mine from gmpauls around 60 some dollars. The actuall old fashion ones are around 40-50$ I believe. gmpauls ahs all both version.

I also used the S-10 weather stripping. It was so much easier to install. I got mine from Wes.

The weather stripping was for my pickup. The weather stripping on my Blazer is the original replacement. Glue and clamps.
