Bad Thermostat?
I got the intake all done and fired it up tonight. Temp guage got to almost H then I shut it down. I checked the top radiator hose and it was still flexible like there was no water coming through. I filled up the radiator before I started it. Could it be a bad thermostat?

You could have an air pocket under the t-stat (this can cause it not to open). I like to drill a small bleeder hole in them so this won't happen.

I went thru 4 t-stats. Then drilled a small hole in the first one.......It worked for me.

I have a suspicion that if intake manifold gaskets are used that block the heat riser passages that run through the middle of the manifold, the thermostat has a hard time warming up when there isn't any coolant/water in the manifold yet. I've struggled with this issue many times. I like the idea of drilling a little hole in the thermostat.
