buying a truck from canada..
could someone tell me what involved in buying a truck from canada and bringing it to the U.S.?? i got a buddy looking into buy one and was wondering, about all the taxes, and legel `stuff`.

Some help
If you phone any United States Customs Office they can tell you exactly what you have to do. The biggest problem you have in the US is the EPA stuff which most Canadian Provinces dont deal with. I do believe that if you are importing a vehicle oldr than 25 years into the USA from Canada it is emissions excempt federally but check with the State you are going to register it in.

My brother just imported 2 trucks from the USA.He has to pay a $182.50 charge to import each one here.And it must meet canadian safty stanatards(daytime running lights).I was at the boarder crossing and if the trucks were older then 15 years then he would not have paid the money.But that was importanting and american truck to canada

Also make sure he does't have any cattle in the bed. That still seems to be a pretty touchy subject.
