2 hour chubby...started it for the 1st time!!!

HOLY COW

I fired up the Blazer for the 1st time today. A little timing tunning and a little carb tunning and it's sitting in the garage purring like a very very very loud cat (open headers on a 496). I'm sure my neighbors really appreciate me now!

What a rush...first the nerves take over, will it start? Will it break something? Is the last 6 months of work and $$$ down the flusher?

Then when it does start...it's pure excitement/relief/joy all rolled into one. I love it .

Please excuse my over exuberance!

A buddy is comming over after work tomorrow to take a peek & he's bringing his digital camera...I'll post pics immediately there after.

It's called golf because all the other four letter words were taken.

It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

Speaking of PO'ing the neighbors....after doing a little more "tweaking" I took her around the block tonight....well actually around the entire sub-division. It was the first drive...Yup...no exhaust yet, but I HAD to see how she drove. Little kids were running from the side walks, dogs were barking, people were running from their houses to see what was rumbling by...I was grinning like a big ol' fool the whole time!!! My wife & kids heard me the whole time I was taking a ride around the sub...I was over two miles away at one point.

I think tomorrow, I'll take the day off and visit my friends at the local muffler shop...time to get the Flowmasters installed before they kick me out of the local homeowners association!!!

I'm deadbeat tired, so I'll up load the pics tomorrow.

Thanks to everybody who helped with parts or advice...I wish that I could take each of you for for a ride in the beast that I've fabricated...as my way of saying thanks.

Next step...finish the body work.....
