So where are they growing the steel posts? LOL
I thought you were going steel frame. Really doesn't matter. Any shop is a good thing. Congrates.

I was going to build a steel shop because I wanted the cathedral ceiling the steel rafters offered. but I stumbled across this building that offered wood posts with steel rafters so I could still have the open ceiling for 8k cheaper. I wish I got the land cheap

Good deal Keith you'll enjoy it, I just got a bid today on a 30x40 16 foot tall, 2 story building to made a house, with a 40x80 14 foot tall shop on the back of it. Price scared the hell out of me though, may have to look another direction, close to 170K.

I hear ya Keith, the 30x40 part is a finished 2 story house, sheetrock, carpets, cabinets, bathrooms, etc. I had a bid for a 40x80 for $25K too, but the wife wants a house. She may be wanting one for awhile!!! The 30x30 I built at my house now is so full of stuff I can't even park in it.

Looks like I may be starting a garage soon myself. We are selling the house we are in. I have to say the thing that I will miss the most is my 21'x24' shop that I built just over 2 years ago. I know the next one will be twice the size of this one and it will have water and a drain in the middle of the shop floor so I can wash the truck inside from the weather, when needed. I am looking at least at a 25'x40' this time. (I may need to hide a suburban or panel in there some day!! LOL ) I am going to hate packing up. My truck is scheduled to be ready from the bodyshop on July 21st and we close on our house on July 15th.

Congrats on the contract and the shop. I see it's going to be a floating slab, but they didn't level it out first?
