Guys I know I'm getting old asking all of these tire size question but I really want to be sastisfied when I get them so please bear with me.

Does a Bf goodrich radial T/A tire look wider than another brand tire of that same size? It says it has a wide profile look and was wondering if it was acutally wider than a tire of the same size?

I've seen pics from you guys of a non lowered truck with the 275/60/15 on all 4, but I'd like to see one (if possible) with the BF Goodrich radial T/A's 275/60/15's If any one has one I'd like to see it, or just tell me what you think. I just dont want it to look stupid if the tires are really wide on the front too. But I really want the Radial T/A's.

mine arent 60 series, but they are bfg radial t/a's

these are 285/70/15's....and they fit perfect in the rear

...and make it look "tubbed"

frt r 275/60/15s and the rear r 295/60 /15s there the old style bfgs but the newer style looks atlot cleaner

i've got the same bfg tires 245/60's. they are good tires imo.

The picture in my avatar is when i had some 275/60's. They did look pretty wide on the 10 inch wide wheel.

I have my second set of 255/70/15 Radial TAs on my truck. The width of the tread on these tires was almost exactly the same as the 275/60/15 Dunlop Elites I was also considering. The Dunlop in the same (255/70/15) size was not nearly as wide as what I had on the truck. I ended up buying a second set because I didn't want something narrower, and I knew these would fit.

So, yes, for a given size, the Radial TAs were wider than the other brands I looked at. I measure tread widths with a tape measure at the tire shop to confirm this.

I hope this makes sense....

Hey bodydropped what type of drop do you have with the use of those 275's up front and 295's on back? That truck is awesome. I was wandering if I just use lowering blocks on the rear would it screw up my ride quality? I was looking at the 4 inch blocks from DJM.

To use lowering blocks, you would first need to flip the axle to the top of the springs. That alone would give you something like a 5 inch drop. With 4 inch blocks, that would give you 9 inches of drop in the rear. I doubt that will be workable.

my dads truck is low as u can go he has ladder bars with a panard setup on his and the ft i think he used springs since he built it in 79 they didnt have drop spindles back then

BF's suck big time IMO. I've run them at all 4 corners on my 78 and just the rears on the 79 [only reason was they were used and cheap and I needed tires] I now stay as far away from them as possable. They don't have any traction, and they hardly smoke when used in a burnout of any sort. So to me they aren't good for anything

And to answer your Q, no I don't think they look any different.

I don't particularly like them either. They aren't as bad as they used to be, though. They look nice, but are overpriced. My truck had a new set when I bought it. When it came time to buy tires, I had a choice of them or Dunlop Elites. The Dunlops were smaller, and I would have to changes sizes. I went with these because I already knew they would fite with the drop.

I had BFG Advantage GT 275 60 15's all around IMO they were a very good tire and the slightly lower profile tire set the truck off very well. I had them for 4 years before the front end ate the inner tread off. Now thats it's aligned with all new components up front it has wussy wallmart goodyear wranglers 235 75 15, look's gay now.

I'll dig up a pic and scan it tonight of how it looked with the BFG's on it.
