3 spd Manual question
I have a stock 3 spd manual tranny (on the tree baby), what brand is it and does it have overdrive? I feel it kick in when I gun it at high speeds (once only, just to see if it would) but I think thought it was just the other 2 barrels. When I went looking for gaskets so I can change the fluid in it I found a few options on the Autoparts site, and dont know which one is mine.
Parts choices Thanks again guys

Manual?....but you are describing an automatic. Best bet is that if the truck is a normal 1/2 ton & came with a 350 engine, it is most likely a TH350 tranny.

Thx putter, but thats kind of my point. I did not think the 3spds had Overdrive, and I dont think that mine does, I just wasnt sure since on the advance site, the have a 3 spd overdrive listed.
"Saginaw (Including OD); 3 Speed; Manual Transmission"

If you don't have a clutch, that is not you.

O I see. from my first post, stock 3 spd tranny, I have a 3 spd manual on the col. Not a 3 speed auto, I should have been more clear. I will edit to clarify.

Huh, so is there a 3sp manual with an overdrive? How does the overdrive engage?

I had a 3 speed manual with an overdrive in a 67 truck with a 250ci engine. There was a handle under the dash that said "OVERDRIVE" on it that I had to push in to put the overdrive unit into a freewheeling mode. There was also an electrical switch that I had to pull when the engine was rev'd up, and then I'd let off the gas, and as the RPM of the engine decreased, the overdrive unit would kick into gear. The overdrive unit was mounted on the end of the transmission in place of the usual transmission tail housing. It had a cable and a wire coming out of it. You should be able to stick your head under your truck and see if you have one there.
