What did you get done?
As always I didn't get anything truck related accomplished this week other than cleaning and washing my daily drivers.
I did manage to get a dent knocked in my back yard clean up. I got up early before the heat set in and started weeding and trimming around my pool. By late afternoon I had managed to fill about a dozen large bags with grass weeds and trimmings. I spent another hour trying to get my freaking swimming pool water in balance before I decided to jump in and call it a day. Today after church I worked on it again before I had to run errands. Since it was getting dark when I got him I gave up on the yard and changed out a control valve in one of our commodes. What did you get done....?

Put in a rebuilt two piece drive shaft Friday morning. Technically, not on the weekend but figured it still counts as work. Cleaned up my pool too. Had some shingles in it from a pretty severe storm on Friday night that included hail and high winds. Patched up some potholes in the back yard from the puppy that thinks the yard is her personal beach. Maybe I'll go hit the pool now.

We had a birthday party for Kelsey so we had to prepare for 7 pre-teenage girls.
I'm not sure why, but for some reason my GF decided to clean the house so it would look nice for them. I sure wish they would have returned the favor  . After the dinner/movie last night, there were presents..... cake..... then swimming until the wee hours of the morning.It appears to have been a great party because they all looked like hell this morning & that's w/o alcohol  . Anyway, once they were up @ the crack of noon, it was donuts..... into the pool again..... out of the pool long enough for pizza..... then back into the pool until time to leave.Once they were all gone I went to the garage & cleaned on the 350. I'm still waiting on my new engine stands/mounts & trans crossmember/mount to arrive. I also disassembled the drivers front spindle assembly of my RestoRod to test fit the spindles I got for a friend off of the e-bay link provided from the 73-87 parts board. They fit like they're supposed to so I feel much better now (I didn't want to pass something along to him w/o making sure it fits what it was supposed to). Back to the garage now to clean a couple more piston tops!

helped build a derby van friday night, finished up Saturday and went to the derby. my one friend was going to drive it, so the whole time we thought we were building it for him. he got home from work Saturday morning and decided that he was going to let one of the guys who helped build it drive. we ended up letting the only guy in our crew who hadn't driven in a derby yet drive it. did pretty good for his first derby. didnt hurt the van too bad either, so its going into mothballs until the next van derby next spring.
met up with patgizz early this afternoon. then went and picked up the trans for the 73. spent the rest of the day working on my 73, got the rest of the dash cut out, cleaned the interior out, and started measuring for my cage. hopefully i can put a pretty big dent in it *pun intended*  before my best friend's funera- er, wedding next Saturday.

I purchased my alternator & PS brackets (Alan Grove), headers (Sanderson), alternator (Powermaster), and all the fittings and line for my fuel system (Aeroquip & Russell). Not cheap by any means, but definately worth it.

I moved my soon to be ex wife out of the house last weekend. My house now looks huge, because there is nothing left in it. I spent the rest of the week enjoying my new found solitude, and it feels great. We decided to split now, because if we stayed together too much longer, we would end up hating each other.
I went out with some friends Friday night, and drank waaaaay too much. Turns out I am out of practice. Badly. I got up at 6 and headed to Austin, where I purchased another 2wd Jimmy, a 78 model. Very decent truck, and it should clean up well. No pics, though. I got back late this afternoon, and just decided to take a break from doing laundry.

I've been working on both my 80 and my 89. 80 is nearly ready to fire up, just need to get my mig gas bottle back (sent it off to be refilled) so I can put my 02 sensor into the header, and I also need to run my fuel lines. Definitely looking forward to hearing the old girl roar again
 Been working on replacing the engine in the 89, picked a 350 up for it, I should have it on the road again by the end of next week. Need to replace the steering box, front calipers / pads, and get a new gauge bezel for it, half of it's gauges don't work, and with a new engine, I wanna make sure nothing is amiss once I fire it up. I won't put the 80 on the road until I've got the divorced case installed, and the body coated in epoxy primer.

Finish work on the sub box, got it installed. Still haven't run the power wire or gotten any work done on the door speakers

I installed a new drag link 6" lift and SS brake lines had the truck aligned and had the 35 " Mud terrains put on took it for a cruise and washed it and polished the wheels

Last tuesday i had circuit city install a couple polk audio speakers in the doors....cringed a let them put a new din chassis deck in the dash so i can listen to mp3's...and we added a small bazooka tube under the right seat in the camper.
Friday night i installed new 3 leaf front springs from alcan spring into the front of the chalet along with ORD HD shackles...waiting for a rebuilt gearbox from benchworks....new bilstein shocks from AOR...have the ORD steering brace on the work bench awaiting the new gear box. Still have to swap in a cb from the 79...hook up the fog lights...and load her for the trip to casper. But i did manage to wash and wax her today which is no small task... Doug W.

Saturday, I converted Buster over to a complete 12V system. That was the first step prior to the Vintage Air a/c install. That will be started this week. Today, the wife and I met a club member out at Lavon and played on the lake all afternoon.

nothing truck related unfortinatly. my parents are in from kansas we layed around the house watch movies and played with my son. sometimes the boy is more fun than anything else but anyway i did enjoy my weekend. oh yea i guess i did do something truck related i got new rubbers on the daily beater the truck will now do 65 and not vibrate me out of the truck. the tires were really bad when i put this four year sitting truck back on the road 6 months ago so it was nice to drive it with a smooth ride haha!

Well, I actually have something indirectly related to the 73-87's to post. I sold my Jeep this past weekend, so now I have only the Vette to drive. YIPPIE! Now I can throw some serious money at the Jimmy and Su. I am hoping to get them to driver status shortly. First on the agenda is the TPI install on the Jimmy so I can drive the thing (I HATE Carbs).

Hmm.....I had a garage sale on Sat morning/afternoon, and then had a pool party/house warming party at my house. So while the sale was going on I had to clean inside the house and the other stuff too. Also took my g/f's Bullitt to get the hail dents removed and had many other errands that day as well. Yesterday just relaxed a bit.
I did manage to get the paperwork filled out for insurance, did that while having the garage sale also. So hopefully by the end of the week I should have a rough # of where they are at monetary wise on my settlement. Still no truck so I doubt it will show up at this point. Its prolly somewhere in Mexico or just chopped up and shipped out to everywhere.

I spent all day Sunday with an electrician helping him do stuff to my house and my in-law's house. I don't know anything about electrical stuff, but I am good at fetching stuff.
 I had him put 220 outlets on a 50 amp circuit in my garage in two places. I inherited my father's stick welder and huge compressor last year when he died, and now I will finally be able to use them. Well, I can use the compressor. I don't know how to weld. He also added two outlets (space to plug in 4 devices) to each of two walls in the garage that had no outlets at all. Everything was fished through the walls and run through the attic in the south Texas heat. I don't know how the guy does this stuff... He also fixed some electrical work done a while back by an acquaintance who, apparently, did not do very good work. It all worked, but the work was sloppy and wasn't up to code. It was a total of about 12 hours of work. Slonaker |

Well I got back from New Jersey / Washington DC on wednesday.
This weekend, daddy discovered my brake pads were bad (hence the gawdawful squeal when just riding down the road) so we changed the pads, and packed grease in the wheel bearings, and i changed my oil and oil filter and windshield wipers. I'll probably wash it this week since its absolutely disgusting.

I put the '91 steering wheel on my '70 Burb and now waiting on Longhorn Man to get back with me on getting the horn to work. He has been a big help. Wheel looks and feels much better then the OE did.

striped the rear frame on my dualy of all brackets crossmember in the way and all rivits. what a pain in the ass. but in only 1 step away form mocking up the link and bag mounts now.
