Factory Hood Ornament

Where do I find one? Does someone reproduce them?

Not sure what you mean by "hood ornament" ? 67 - 68 had hood letters, 69 -70 had a "bow tie" emblem on the hood and 71 - 72 had the "bowtie" in the egg crate front grill. None had an actual " hood ornament" per se. I have a couple driver quality 71 - 72 style "bowties" if interested. $10 plus $2.50 shipping.

Not sure if it is factory or a chevy aftermarket deal. I have seen a couple on trucks. Like this one.

That was a original part for a Monte Carlo not truck, some people add them as they look like they might have came with the truck but they are in fact Monte hood ornaments 70-72ish.

I was seeing them on Southeastern trucks alot in the late 80s-90.They do look right.I went to Chevy and got one, never used it(not for sale). There were guys(Wentz in Danville,Va.)selling them for $50 or more.I think I paid $18.That was when these truck vendors started popping-up selling N.O.S. stuff at jacked-up prices when you could walk into your dealer and get it.Harold`s right on,Monte Carlo, from our years(1st gen.).

you guys are right on the money as usual. Found them at Original Parts Group site 71-72 Monte Carlo. You can get a repo for $44.95 or GM for $82.45. Thanks

Cowl Hood

I wonder how one of those would look on a 67-68 cowl hood?

From what I understand they were dealer installed, they were sitting on the shelf for the Monte Carlo's. I have seen these on a few 71-72's during the near first half century of my life.

It`s worth a try to go to your Chevy parts counter. They may still have them.
