Middle Seat Shoulder Belt Retrofit

I need shoulder belts for the middle seat in my 1986 GMC Suburban. The kids have graduated to booster seats and now I must have shoulder belts. The GMC dealer stated "they can't sell me a shoulder belt for an '86, since it wasn't original equipment". I know later models had the shoulder belts, but I'm not sure of the year they were factory installed. Does anyone know if the attachment points should have been installed and what part number I should order?

I would also be interested in used belts if they're in good condition. The interior on this burb is blue. Thanks for your help in advance.

Here's what I would do, go to the dealer lots, and look at new model suburbans and other makes to see what would fit in your burban the best. See what the cost of a new assembly would be, or call around to the junkyards that deal with newer cars. My Honda Pilot has 3 point seat belts for all 7 passengers. The belt is in the roof and is pulled down and clicks into the belt attach point at the seat. When not in use, it retracks into the ceiling. Pretty cool idea! Hope this helps. David

I'm not sure what year Burbs had them, so I'm not much help there. I would suggest looking on Ebay. I see seat belts all the time on there. Never the ones I need but they are there.
