I agree the LMC speaker that I got is very lame.Big disappointment, very distorted.I would like to find a small amp like the old sparkomatic 20 watt boosters. One push button ,about a 3" x 1-1/2" box that could be easily hidden.and try to tuck some good speakers somewhere under the dash area.

In my Z28 i have 2 3.5" speaker mounted to the shell of the original center dash speaker. I use them strictly for highs, so I know without some bigger speakers in the back deck it sounds like crap, I ran the stereo for a few weeks with just the front ones before I could afford 6x9's, so maybe just use the front ones for the high notes like I'm doing?

Well it was the stereo. I got another one and it works, speaker still sounds kinda crappy but I didn't expect much from it. When I get the 6 x 9's installed it will be ok. I still have a lot of noise coming thru when the engine is running, lots of static that varies with engine speed, not a whine. I need to buy an inline noise filter next and see if that helps. Thanks
