In need of GMC hubcap

Guys, a friend of mine is looking for a chrome dogdish type hubcap for his 68 stepside. I haven't seen his yet so does anyone even have a picture of one?. I believe he said the "GMC" is in red.

Thanks for any replies,
Bill

GMC Hubcaps

Once you have a picture of what the GMC hubcap looks like, you may want to check the following website: http://www.hubcaps.org/

Then click on GMC as they have an extensive listing with notations as to year, etc. They are not cheap, but they are absolutely great people to deal with and very honest. Hope this helps. Occasionally eBay has some listing as well.

Thx guys,

The guy didn't bring his to work today like he promised... I can't find him one if he don't bring one in huh?

Ok...I finally had to show this old guy a PICTURE of his hubcap and he said yeah, that's it so here's a picture from hubcap.org (I hope)Thanks to you,Orange Truck! His truck is a 69 GMC stepside 1/2 ton. Anyone got a used one...he doesn't want to spend the $25 for a new one.

thanks again, Bill

The cap in the pic is not a 69...must be 73+. So he is sure he needs the one in the pic?

Thanks Pickmup

I printed a copy of the picture off on a non-color printer at work and gave it to him and he said it was like what he needed...I went on to describe it to him as chrome with one red ring surrounding the GMC in red as well. So best I can tell this is the one he needs.

thanks again.

Bgood,

Pickemup is saying that you are most-likely looking at the WRONG hubcap because they are VERY similar. 69's had raised edges that are pretty distinctive.

Get a look before some guy at work flakes you around. What the heck you doin' his leg work for anyway?

Just kidding!

Wink Still lookin

Thanks for the insight Catseye... I guess I really should get a look at his original cap.I seem to recall the raised edges on a set of painted caps that my father once owned. This old guy that I'm trying to help is a partially retired, partially disabled, guard at the place where I work, And he's about more trouble than he's worth..But I guess I feel a kinship to him since he drives an old GM truck

Yeah, I'm weak that way too.
Once you find out exactly what it looks like, just keep a search going on e-bay til you find one. Decent drivers come up in onesies-twosies and are usually pretty cheap. good luck...

Is he interested in buying a "set of three" I have just such a set of three caps, GMC in that style. Here's a pic of them. Not show but very nice driver quality caps. $20 for the three plus the ride.

This is a '67-'68 GMC dog dish hub cap. They came in different color combinations, some painted, some chrome.
