Accel HEI Coil Question
Anyone running a Accel HEI super coil (Pt. #140003)? Has a red & white wire, is this the correct coil for my HEI upgrade (Accel makes one other simular to this one, can't remember the part #). Is it a decent coil and much better than a stock GM one? I'll be buying a new coil for my HEI would like to know what is a good choice. I am running Taylor Thundervolt 50 wires (10.4mm) Thanks, Doug

the difference between stock is 30,000 volts and the high pro aftermarket
ones are 50,000 volts..... make sure you still use your stock black ground wire......once you take the top cover off you will see it........ i run the 50,000 volt coil.....and have no problems........the brand your looking at is good......mark Last edited by rage'nrat638; 07-22-2005 at 10:33 PM. |

Mark, is your Accel coil the same one that I'm looking at buying? Pt. # 140003 with the 2 wires (one red, one white). Accel makes two almost identical looking ones but the other coil they sell has like 4 wires (I think it is for the new style HEI). I just want to make sure I buy the correct one as I am buying it on line. Thanks, Doug
