Help Identify Posi Unit?!?
Guys, A local guy has this Posi Unit for sale pretty cheap, its brand new and bever been installed. He says he bought it for a 12 Bolt Rear but isnt sure if it will work in my 72 12 Bolt rear. any help with identifying it? 3 or 4 series? How can I tell? Thanks, Jt

Looks like an Eaton Gov-lok. Not sure what series. The govener on these units are week and tend to break ( If abused ). I had one and mine broke. ( And there's no replacement parts available )

I'm with Gary, looks like a Gov-lok and it looks to be for a 10 bolt...

That unit looks to me , identical to the same used in military m-1008 pick ups. The military chevrolet version . Probably is an eaton as mentioned by Gary.

10 bolt Gov-Lock.............junk in anything with more than stock horsepower or larger tires, many cant even deal with stock stuff.
