Do you guys think they look good at this location or should I lower them closer to the bumper (kind of like Tim Christians and FirstGen's)?

I'll have to take the fender off and all, just looking for some opinions.

I think if you centered between the top of the fender and top of the bumper it will look ok. Not sure if that is the measurement that you used but they do look just a bit too high.

i think they look good right there
and why take the fender off and run a risk of scraching it or the bed just to drill more holes to move the tail lights

I guess I don't have to remove the fender. I could just drill to holes in the front there and just have long bolts, but I don't know how that would look.

I'll try to find a pic of Tim & Firstgen's truck and compare, but my first thought was that I would prefer mine to be lower......Jerry

They look good. When I see a truck as nice as yours, the last thing I look at is how high or low the taillights are. John

I guess I always pictured his lower. Maybe it's the fact that the roll pan makes it appear lower.

Mine look just like that! If I had a bumper I would consider lowering them like Tim's.

dude can you post some pictures of your truck. i tried looking at your truck at the site you have posted but they will not come up. i love that color. had already been thinking of doing mine in a simaler shade.

May I ask where the bracket is from?

I would get rid of the chrome brackets that rust in a couple of months and french the stainless tail lights into the fender, or make a set of stainless brackets a little shorter to bring the light closer to the stake pocket and lower them a little bit.

Just don't recess them in the bumper or roll pan. When the tailgate is down and the back is full of something that sticks out the back a ways, noone can see your taillights. Thats why they are always mounted outside the tailgate opening from the factory.

Just my opinion, I think that they look good where they are at currently. They are not in a position that would make it hard for someone behind you to see, and that is the reason for taillights in the first place.
