installed a 4/6" drop on my 85 burb

just thought id post some pics of one of my recent projects. i bought this 85 burb from a dealer here in colorado only because ive never come across one this clean for the money.Heres a pic of when I first got it.



it has 350/700r4/a/c (converted to r134a) cruise, power rear window. it is a one owner original 44,000 mile truck. everything you see is original and amazingly well preserved. original uncracked dash, headliner, paint, interior, seats, everything! can you say ZERO RUST?

All ive done to is is tint it all the way around 20%. 4/6" drop (spindles, springs, flip) and new 18" eagle wheels. i know not the greatest wheel but they were temps until i got too order the ones i really wanted. heres more current pics.






if anyone might be interested in it let me know. im not excited or desperate to sell it by any means. ive just got way too many projects at this point and wouldnt mind taking a little loss on it to let someone else have a really clean start to a nice project. Ive got just over $4500.00 in it and would take any reasonable offer on it.

Burb looks nice! Good start! Looks pretty clean also. I have a 1990 burb also dropped 4/6. Not quite as clean though. Its my project right now. I'm in the process of shaving everything now. I like these square bodies cuz you dont see many of them lowered. I like the fact that I can roll down the street and not see another one like it. Anyways burb looks nice man!

sorry I dont have pics. As far as the rear goes, no I dont bottom out. I cut the bump stops way down though and havent had a problem. Try that if you havent already. Not sure how easy it would be to notch because when you notch a pickup you can take the bed off. But with a burb who knows Good luck either way.

where did you get your drop kit and what company is it from? was it fairly easy to install? i am looking to drop my '76 burb this way untill i am ready to bag it.

Hey Bad burb, I bought all my suspension components separately. I have bel tech components. If you want to buy a kit get the 3" front and 5" rear kit. Doesnt really matter which supplier you buy from but I think bel tech is the best bet. You will have to get the parts that fit 73-87 pickups. Our burbs have the same suspensions. Also if you buy spindles, you will have to measure the front rotors. They will be either 1" thick or 1 1/4" thick. Make sure you get the right ones!! I installed everything myself. Not too difficult. Keep in mind with a truck as old as yours, you may have to replace a few things like balljoints and bushings. Anyways hope this helps. good luck.

my burb is lowered 5/??? flip kit and old leafs! heres a pic of the c notch and everything...i never bottom out...the only problem i have i with my driveline rubbing on the bottom of the floorboard...anybody else have this problem? its only on big bumps with a full tank of gas!

Did you do the notch yourself? How difficult was it? I want to notch mine cuz eventually i want to bag it. Where do you live? Anyway the burb looks very nice! I love that color. I want to paint mine blue also but not sure what shade of blue.
