Need Opinions...Billet or Stock - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Got my 71-72 grille, but I can't decide on whether to go with a billet insert or the gray stock inner grille.

Most of you know I have a 70 stepper but switched over the grille and bumper to 71-72. Also do I have to swap the grille support???

Anybody got pros and cons?

Tough call. I like all the stock Chevy grills as well as billet, but with billet it looks like you lose the bowtie :O

Since I have a 70 I still have my bowtie on the hood.

If I go back to stock I'm not going to put an emblem in the center due to the one on the hood. I guess I can cut off those tabs so they won't be noticeable.

Here's mine with the Stull billet grill. It looks better with headlight and all now.

I ordered Wes's chrome billet grill assembly. I havent installed it yet, but i can say it is awsome. it looks so good sitting in the garage im almost afraid to install it.

man stroker those first 3 are sweet. i'd say go stock but if you're not going to use the grill bowtie then go billet.

question? Does the billet grill effect how you open the hood? Is there a relocation kit of some sort? My fingers are pretty skinny but won't fit through those billet openings

I figured that much, just wondered what the grille companies offered, if anything, for that problem.
