How to soup up windsheild wipers, and heater fan??
my wipers are SLOW (for me anyways) and the blower motor, once I hook it up, will be too slow for me as well. Any tricks to soup em up and make em faster?

Wipers--disconnect wiper levers from motor and check to see if they move freely-if not remove wiper transmission and soak in WD-40.
fan--replace with one off AC truck.

Make sure your heater fan control lever is working properly. I went for a few years wishing my fan worked better. Then one day I pushed my heater control lever over to the right a little harder than usual and the fan kicked into high speed! I felt pretty dumb. I didn't realize there were three speeds for the fan, controlled by the switch and the resistors that are mounted on the top of the heater box.

Add an extra battery and run them on 24v. They may not last long but they will sure run faster!

If the wiper motor isnt jammed up, how can I get more RPM's out of it. Is there a different application, or a manufacturer that makes somethin faster or better?

It could be your wiper motor is going out. Mine started going slower and slower towards the end. I replaced the motor with another used one and they work nice and fast now.

I found out one thing that causes the blower motor to slow down.....A mouse nest inside the heater box.......

Running an A/C blower can fry the harness. It pulls more amps then the non a/c one, and the wires aren't rated for it.
Do a voltage drop test, and see if you are getting a good ground. |

Thanks Longhorn Man. I was thinking of getting one of the A/C blowers myself. Now I know not to. Do not want to fry my wires or worse.

If both are slow check the grounds Try taking a jumper lead and grounding either motor before turning it on. The grounds are a common problem

well, it is an AC cab, the motor doesnt work at the moment, havent tried anything "yet" I have never seen "fast" wipers. I have seen several trucks, they do not impress me. Maybe its a california thing?
What are your thoughts on intermittent wipers?? Was there a factory option, or is there a way to finagle em in using something else?

The original blower motor in my truck was so wore out it was melting the orange power wire coming from the fan speed switch. I could only use it on the 2nd speed, and it was pulling about 10 amps. High speed pulled about 20!!!! Changed it out with a used, but newer Delco motor and it hauls ass, but it heats up the wires too. I know I'm gonna end up buying a new one, I want to get it fixed before it gets cold. Gotta get new heater hoses too.

When checking the blower motor also check to see if the defroster hoses are in good condition and attached on both ends. They could be damaged or not connected.

try cracking a a kick panel vent while using the blower ... if you have a good sealed cab ... it blows harder when in cab pressure is released
