vin numbers
is there any other place that has a vin number on the 67-72 trucks other than the vin plate in the door jamb

Options sticker on glove box door, and I think its also stamped on the frame rail, front driver's side, I could be mistaken about that.
And MAYBE, written on firewall (1st 5 digits) w/ grease pencil. There also might be a build sheet under the seat, that should have VIN info as well.

the firewall markings are not VIN code, are the model code, a totally different code that tells what bed and what wheel base and what series it is and if its 6 or 8 cyl and if its 2 or 4 wheel drive, model code is sometimes also written on the backside face of the very last frame crossmember in the rear
VIN stamp code found on frame rail driver side top side under cab floor and other times on top side of frame rail near steerign box just behind it or just in front of engine mount tree bracket. good luck |
