Sway bar mounting question
I went to the junk yard and picked up a swap bar and the mounting brackets. I had to get one of the guys out there to use his air tools to get the brackets off because they weren't bolted on, the just had like a mushroom head on both ends(forgive my ignorance of their real name). I didn't think much of it until I looked at my truck and noticed that the crossmember also uses one of those mushroom bold things right where I need to put the bracket. How can I take those off at home with no air tools? Also, what do I use to put the brackets on my truck? Can I just bolt them on here or do I need to do more?

you just bolt them on with 3/8" diameter bolts from NAPA or wherever, and the front crossmemeber there uses a frame rivet and goes though one hole of each of the twop frame bar brackets. you can use electric grinder to grind off heads and punch them out, or you can get a cold chisel and a BFH amd cut the head off in a few whacks

when I did it, it took more than a few whacks. Grinder and punch works as well as a centerpunch and drill.

I recommend getting the low profile brackets to mount them. They always seem to be the first thing that scrapes curbs! LOL I think Early Classics has them?

How can that be? The cross member is lower than the frame, and the bar is bolted (rivited) to the frame.

the bracket that corrects the frame alignment to the horizon and lets the bar work properly does not come down as far but still aligns it with the supension
