67 key position question
When I turn off my truck, should I be turning the key in the ignition so it is straight up or all the way to the left? I've been turning it straight up and my battery keeps running down, which I believe is totally unrealated but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.
Matt

67's should have a 3 position key, OFF/ ON /START. If someone has changed it to a newer ignition it will be a 4 position, ACC /OFF /ON /START. The bezel on 67's is smaller then the newer ones. I'm not sure about the 68's but the 69-72 have the 4 position.

Thanks, I was thinking it was straight up, just like the 75 van I used to have. There has been a drain on my batery ever since I had my motor rebulit, the shop replaced the voltage regulator, and has now replaced it 3 more times in the past 2 weeks, thinking this was the problem and they kept getting bad regulators. Hopefully my battery doesn't continue to drain. I was just curious about the ignition switch.

Cool, thanks for the help. I've been puting the key straight up (just like before) and the truck has held its charge for a few days. I realized my truck had been re-keyed with new locks and ignition switch, that's why I keep finding old keys around my house that are all the same but don't work- my truck belonged to my wife's grandfather and we live on the family farm. I have an ignition switch with the acc to the left, just like newer trucks, something I learned from the board. Thanks
Matt
