Street Racers Suck!!!!(RANT)

Some idiot in a old POS 300ZX was racing a motorcylce on a fairly busy street and hit the car that my wife's grandparents were riding in head on. Everyone is alive, but not in good shape at all. There 4 people in the car the were riding in, all were in their 70s. My wifes grandma suffered a broken neck, luckily there was no spinal cord damage, so she will be alright. Her grandpa didnt fare so well, he has 5 broken ribs,a bruised lung, a broken scapula(shoulder blade) a broken hip, along with various other cuts and bruises. The other man has a broken leg, ribs, and pelvis. the other woman has a broken back and collar bone.
The driver of the 300ZX is in bad shape too, he has many broken bones and bleeding on his brain.
What are people thinking when they do things like this??? They estimated that he was going 75mph at impact. Why would you race a motorcycle on a city street at 11:00 in the morning? I just dont understand. I am 28 years old, and it seems like the younger generation and even some people from my generation are just totally stupid and out of control.

Anyway your thoughts and prayers are appreciated. We are just glad that they are all alive, now we start the long process of recovery.

sorry to hear about that... its insane, it doesn't matter what breaks in your body, your body is never the same afterwards... people are crazy for street racing... especially thinking they can out do a sport bike... or any decent bike... if the guy lives, he's in a great position for a heavy law suit.

Sorry to hear about the accident. I hope they all have a fast recovery. I agree, even though your bones and stuff heal they are never the same again.

Yikes. Sorry to hear about the accident. Makes you wonder where the world is going. We just had 2 shootings where two high school kids were killed - they all knew eachother. This week we also had a guy stab 3 people - killed one and one person was a neighbor he had never spoke to.

I agree with everyone here so far, it's ridiculous the way people act on the road. We have a perfectly good 1/4 mi strip here and still you have people willing to take the risk of killing someone or at the very least paying a hefty fine for street racing, rather than just hit test and tune night for $20 and run all you want. Your grandparent's in law and family are in our prayers.

Wow.. sorry to hear about your family!.. Glad everyone is doing well though..
Its the same thing up here in Vancouver.. The Street racing scene is getting out of control..
The police are trying to crack down on it.. I hear in the news people dying all the time.. you think this would wake them up.. but no.. I feel sorry for them all.

What a mess Tracey. I'm not sure why we have to deal with idiots like that, but there must be some reason. Regardless at least everyone came out alive. My prayers are with the injured and your family.....

They should get the idiot and brake the same bones on national t.v. that you family broke maybe then they will be a little more considerate for the other people that need, have, and want to be on the road. But that's considered cruel and unusual punishment but I think it's just eye for an eye...Hope your family heals quick.
