I need a good cheap car alarm
I need a good cheap car alarm for my 68 Camaro. No frills, just the basics for when I go into a store for a minute. What kind should I get and how much should I spend? I really want to go as cheap as possible but still get a good alarm.

I can get you a nice alarm for less than $100.00. I personally would not own an alarm that wasn't made by DEI! They make Viper, Phython, Avital, Clifford and several more. I've been in the business about 20 years!

A battery disconnect switch up under the dash,so no one sees you switch it.That`s if you`re concerned about car theft, not break-in.

Im with the kill switch idea. If my co worker had one on his Escalade Thursday he might still have it today.

i think autoloc(might be someone else) makes a keyless entry that when locked, it will disconnect the battery

You guys are gonna laugh, but I`ve tied beer cans and layed them up under a disabled vehicle before.(like at weddings)I had a truck stolen that was just sitting with no bed before.I had just finished emptying the cans when the idea came to me.

Thanks for the input guys, but I have a kill switch and I'm looking for a cheap no frills alarm for when I need to go into a building for a short period of time and can't keep an eye on her.
Keep 'em coming.

I wouldn't buy Viper, but I would buy Avital in a heartbeat for something simple, lifetime support on the brain and lots of options. Should be able to find a local shop to install one for around $100.
