Re: Buying a 79 gmc

well, i finally got some more pics, my acount here was locked for ever and i checked it tonight and now its letting me post finally... i was getting really pissed lol. But any way... heres some pics for your enjoyment.

1979 Gmc stepside w/ 350 motor (runs mean for stock) 4brl quadjet
Put in a new dash( well sorta new, found one at a junk yard and sanded it down and repainted, no cracks except on the top for the defrost vent)
Just baught new mirrors which will be installed tomarrow when i can get ahold of a drill.
Minor rust spots, mostly on rear passngr fender, which can be patched. The passenger door is a little pushed in i think it was in a wreck at one point.

Over all, i think it was a steal for 1k bucks, tell me what yall think

Re: Buying a 79 gmc

well i will tell you i got a 79 stepside also paid 600 for it. but i can see thru my floor, the inline 6 has seen better days, the tranny gets hung-up in the gears from time to time, and the orginal wood bed is long gone replaced with metal (not bolted in). So you got a great deal.... did i mention the parking brake only works when the truck rolls forward? heat works like a champ!!!!

Re: Buying a 79 gmc

LOL ya my floors have had plates bolted on as replacements.. i think majority of these old trucks in my area have alot of rust... this one besides small spots and the floor doesnt... i got lucky.. ya my heater heats like a champ also lol.
