Whats The Diffrence In A 307 And A 350

This guy i know has a 1969 blazer..beautiful blazer and is selling it. I am thinking about it but he told me it had a 307. I am guessing 307 is like a 305 to a 350? thanks

307 is a 3.875 bore x a 3.25 stroke, picture a 283 with a 327 crank in it. A 350 is a 4.00 bore x a 3.48 stroke. 350 has much more potential, but a 307 will run forever weakly!

Yeah, but look at the bright side, anywhere a 307 is a 350 will swap right in.

If that 307 has a 3 speed, it probably has a dana 20 transfer case. If you plan on swapping the engine and the transmission out, you'll probably want to swap the t-case too. They are a decent t-case, but not as strong as a 205.

Look at the most recent issue of Classic Trucks magazine before you decide to do a swap. They've got an article in their that claims to have gotten 315hp out of a budget 307. Seems like this would be a better way to go than splitting a low mileage engine from a low mileage truck. Just an alternative opinion.
