gear selector

My gear shift is one gear off from my tranny(left of park=park park=nuetral n=drive and so on.)

Is there an easy way to adjust this or should I just live with it?

Re: gear selector

The '72 has an adjustment in the auto trans linkage rod on the steering column. Open the hood and look for the adjustment on the upper end of the rod.

Re: gear selector

You'll know you have it adjusted correctly if you can shift between N and D without pulling back on the shifter lever.
