im scared of brakes and fluids now, i wont look at them the same way now, i think im afraid to drive now, never know when those brakes may fail, they could fail in the morning or fail in a year, never know..
ive enver known of any previous owners to flush brake fluid out once a year or so, never... ive seen some fluid in some vecles that was so old that it was like black syrup almost, and nasty junk piled up in the bottom of the master cylinder..
damn..

What is the best way to change the fluid?

I chainged mine by bleeding the p!ss out of it untill I had gold fluid squirting out. Took quite a bit of fluid too. This was on the old Longhorn when I rebuilt the brakes.

Good timing on this post, 'cause I just put a new master cylinder on this morning. Just beat the rain, so I haven't bled the brakes yet. Was talking to a friend on the phone a little while ago, and he suggested that I start at the right rear, and drain the lines individually untill I get clean, fresh brake fluid coming through each one. Flushing the system being the goal. I've never done it before, but sounds logical and smart to me. Is this the way you guys are doing it? My old m.c. had a lot of crud in the bottom and the fluid itself didn't look great, so I figure the lines probably look the same.

barn, you got it man. Right rear, left rear, right front, left front.
our trucks have the seperate resivors for front and back, so you can do the front before thae back...but why bother. Just go by the old rules.

I had all new brakes put on.... master cylinder, proportioning valve, and stainless lines.. so all my fluid has been changed.

I have a 72 Cheyenne 10 with a V8 350 and a TH-350 auto-tranny.
Ochre/White/Ochre
Runs well... working on body.
Plan to get painted weekend before memorial day weekend.
Planned to be done March 7 when I turned 16. Didn't happen. Chose to do better job and be behind schedule instead of 1/2 doing it and it looking like junk.
