Lots of Blazers For Sale

Does anyone think there is a lot of 1st Gen Blazers for sale now? It would be a good time to buy one now, but it is hard to sell. There are several on Eb-ay that is not selling. There are dozens and dozens on the online trader. Is it the high gas prices? Are people loosing interest? Economy? Jobs going overseas? There are nicely restored Blazers either not selling or going for good prices. Whats up?

I bought my blazer at the end of this summer after watching prices on the online trader and ebay. Yes, it does seem now that prices have dropped and there is more available. Maybe panic? Almost immediately after the increase in gas prices resulting from the hurricane this became appearent.
I kind of wish I would have waited to cash in on some of the good deals but do I regret it? No way. Blazers are rare here and just this weekend I walked out of a store to see roughly 10 men gathered around my topless blazer talking about how nice it was. One of them had lifted his kid up to look inside. I had to excuss myself to get to my own drivers door.
I just caught myself smiling about it as I type this in.
How do you put a price on that kind of smile?

Re: Lots of Blazers For Sale

Blazers have their "season". They sell much faster and at a higher price in the late spring/early summer. Gas prices may have something to do with the number for sale, but the reason they aren't selling as fast is probably lack of winter interest.

I don't see the price of Blazers dropping. There were less than 80,000 made between '69 & '72 (doesn't include Jimmy's to my knowledge). Consider how many have met there demise in one way or another and there aren't very many left. With every Blazer that is parted, wrecked or butchered beyond repair, the value of the restorted & restoreable ones increases a little. The gas issues are probaby a temporary set back until people get used to paying nearly $3.00 per gallon.

Supply and Demand

I have been thinking about selling one or both of mine today. I know it will never happen I just get discouraged when the "good" and "Driver" quality parts turn out to be complete crap.

Re: Lots of Blazers For Sale

I think it is Christmas. This time last year, I saw some gemstones go for peanuts on ebay. And believe it or not, there are some people in the world who do not have a clue as to what these trucks are worth, and some of the ones who do, they really dont care, they just want whatever $$$$$ they can get for them. That's how I got mine.

Re: Lots of Blazers For Sale

You don't know what you got until It's gone. Those who sell now will be buying in the future, Or trying to buy if they can find one for sale or in their price range. Not to many american made Muscle era Convertible/Hardtops out there to be had. Time will only increase value of these "one of a kinds".
IMO.
