Just curious what is favorite oil filter choice? I like wix. Any pros or cons on this subject?

I use Fram and I know people hate them, but I guess until I or someone close to me has a problem with one I will continue to use them. I'm sorry but somebody had to start the Fram contraversy

My dad has used them for years, my grandfather used them when he did his own oil changes, I have used them, and my neighbor has used them for years. I would say it has easily been over 30 vehicles over the last 20-30 years between all of us and never a problem because of a oil filter coming apart. I change it every 3000 miles or 6 months.

Mike, no flaming here, all I'll say is cut one open, and then cut a NAPA gold (rebadged wix) open, and look at what you'll find.

With that, no fram for me, only napa gold, and if for some reason i can't do that, AC Delco.

The last AC Delco I bought had metal shavings on it, and in it. They were probably from when the threads were turned, and the parts not being cleaned before assembly. I took it back to the parts store for a refund. Lately I've been using the big K&N oil filters.

I've been using the cheap super tech filters from walmart but they're not as good as the AC Delco ones that Grandpaw had used on it. When I got the truck a couple years ago it had a Delco PF35 on it, but the PF35's have been discontinued so I'm not sure what number they are now.

i use to use fram till my motor blew in my old truck due to an bad filter but now all i use is puraltor

A siv would be better than any Fram filter. They used to be good, years ago, then they got super cheap. Wix is, for sure, one of the best filter makers out there. Napa Gold = Wix which is what I use.

I would rank them from my years of parts experience
wix,purilator, and anything other than fram. I have seen many filters cut open and fram is by far the worst I have ever seen as far as filtering material.

i Have been using only AC Delco sence i found more info about frame. I have thought about looking into using K&N though

Currently using the Super Tech filter on my truck....driven less than 1000 miles/year until I get it finished. Used AC filters on my Silverado, and absolutely nothing but Toyota filters on my Tundra and the Lexus. Fram does a good demonstration for parts house people, or they used to. I have also used NAPA Gold filters, but not on Toyota's. Worked good on my Honda, though.

NAPA gold for me. I always used Fram until the guy who rebuilt my motor recommended NAPA gold because of the drainback valve. I never had a problem with a Fram, though.
