Re: what ever hapened to that member who....
That would make one hell of a head-line: "Honda Civic meets steel diamond plate step bumper"
My truck was involved in a similar accident but luckily I wasn't in the truck, this happened back in February. I had it LEGALLY parked about half a foot from the curb in front of my house and some crazy chic in a 99 camaro ran right into it, while it was PARKED. How stupid do you have to be? It got pushed about 15 feet forward, there was no way in hell she was going the speed limit. Her car was damn lucky to even push it 5 feet! I'm not lying, email me and I'll send you guys the pics. They're too big to post on the board or I would've done it already. Sorry about the rant.

Robert, don't even get me started on the girl who claims to be doing the speed limit and totally fubars a truck.
Liz... I was playing with the ouch... I'm sorry. I knew you were playing around, and I responded in jest...I shoulda added a smiley, my fault. I considered going another way with my responce askin why you would be dreaming of me...and what were you not tellin me about the dream.... |

Re: what ever hapened to that member who....
I vagely remember that story too. He may have given up on the rebuild since then.
Here's one for the book. A big rig in the right lane and a ricer in the left lane further behind the truck 4 lane street, big rig swingin wide into the left lane to make his right hand turn onto a narrower side street when an oriental guy in a ricer rams into the back of it. The guy wants the trucker ticketed. The officer asked if the ricer guy saw the truck in front of him. He said yes. Was the right turn signal on the truck flashing? He said yes. Officer said why did you run into him. He said because he was in my lane. Officer said you saw the truck in your lane and you still ran into it? He said yes. Officer asked why. He said because he was in my lane! Guy said are you going to ticket that trucker or not. Officer said ain't no way! Unbelievable..

Re: what ever hapened to that member who....
Years ago, my wife was stopped at a traffic light and when the light turned green the guy in front of her accelerated in REVERSE and hit the front bumper of our Jeep that was made out of a 4" dia. pipe. The guy got out, walked back and looked at the damage to his car, looked at the Jeep, then told my wife "lady, I didn't hurt your pipe". He got back in his car and drove off.

Re: what ever hapened to that member who....
For a minute there I thought you were talking about me and maybe just had the story a little mixed up because someone said they thought it was a blue 68 Chevy. I have a 68 Chevy short step that my grandfather brought brand new and it was passed down to my dad and then me back in 98. In Dec. 02 I was at a traffic light waiting to turn left, it was one of those lights where you could turn left if you didn't have the arrow but the light was green, you just had to yield to any oncoming traffic. There were cars on both sides of the street waiting to turn left, you'll see why that's important in a minute. Anyway, I was waiting for the oncoming traffic to go by, when it finally did I started to go and I made absolutely certain that no one else was coming. The next thing I know I see a little import car coming at me at what had to be about 60-70 something mph, you can pretty much guess what happened next. The front of my truck lifted up off the ground and made a 90 degree turn in the air, slammed back on the ground, and the other guys car bounced back several feet. Well someone who was on the other side of the street waiting to turn left saw what happened because the guy in the import almost rearended her because he came flying up behind her in the lane for turning left and jerked his car into the lane going straight which put him on a direct course to where I was. The woman who saw everything said I had already turned and was going onto the street I was turning on when this guy changed lanes. The first cop who arrived said, "Well I didn't see it so there's nothing I can do about it", so of course I was blamed. I was like, "I have a witness who saw everything, what's the purpose of a witness if you're not going to listen to what they say". Two other cops arrived and one of them said that I should not be blamed for it, or if I am then it shouldn't be considered entirely my fault. I tried to fight the ticket but it did no good. The truck is still sitting in my yard covered up waiting until I can get up the money to rebuild it. Sorry for the long post, just felt like sharing. I have pictures of the truck if anyone wants to see them.
