Tired of holding my soda when driving!!!
I have seen somewhere, a device that replaces the ash tray and can hold a couple of cans of coke. Does anyone know where I can get one? Are they of good quality? Thanks for any info! Jay

These would work and be pretty too. Just to rich for my blood. It is fun turning a corner with a coke in your lap. Just the wheel gets in the way when I want to take a drink.

Re: Tired of holding my soda when driving!!!
I have the one that converts the ash tray to a cup holder. For cans of pop, it works great. My coffee mug won't fit in it though. It definately adds some usefulness to an otherwise worthless feature in my truck (the ashtray). The install was a bit of a pain, but not too bad. You do have to cut the ashtray and remove the guide rails, so you won't ever be able to go back. The instructions show how to do the install on the three different ashtrays made for the trucks.
I got mine from WES at http://classicheartbeat.com/catalog/...p%20Holder.htm

Re: Tired of holding my soda when driving!!!
Another option (if your dash is already cut for a DIN Stereo) is a ford taurus cup holder. They are DIN size and have a cup holder and coin tray. They were also used in SAABs and a few other cars. I've seen them on ebay a lot.

Got mine from pickupman. Haven't installed it yet, but it will be a nice feature.

Re: Tired of holding my soda when driving!!!
`Tween the legs is my way of keeping the dash original.Once I open something,it`s not long before I polish it of.Force of habit.
I`ve seen alot of "Bar Bouys" in trucks in the past. That`s what`s in my CheyenneSuper.

I think the conversion kit was only $50 last year at this time.

Re: Tired of holding my soda when driving!!!
The small SteelHorse style boxes/consoles just sitting on the floor/tunnel in front of the seat are pretty good for daily drivers. They look OK, hold drinks and a little extra junk for less than the ashtry units...and you can still set your radio & heater. They are easy to switch from trunk to truck.

Re: Tired of holding my soda when driving!!!
Look...no hands! Add a bowtie or GMC on the cap and your all set. Diet coke with 1/2 the caffein. Or, you could try Rum and Coke, 7 and 7, gin and tonic.

Re: Tired of holding my soda when driving!!!
LOL - great thread! Lots of "you might be a redneck if..." pics here!
I'm also interested in a solution. I think I'd prefer the floor mounted center console (for a bench seat) though. But where to get a goodun?
