another stop and stall question

when ever i slow down (an stop light) i push th clucth in and when the motor idiles down it will stall its fine if i rolling down the road runs good but when i stop or sitting still its runs rough and stops. i don't know where the choke is only thing i see an metal pipe running down to the exhast manfoiled the pipe comes off the side of the carb i tried to adjust the linkage but its adjusted all the way out i have the stock 2 barrel carb any ideas thanks in advance

Check for vacuum leaks, sounds like you are sucking air somewhere.

my 67 c10 292 3spd was doing this. It would die at stop lights, driving down the road and putting the clutch in (idle drops) or sitting in the drive way after warming up if you pulled the brake pedal or carb linkage closed the engine would die. I screwed with the carb, replaced the fuel pump, pulled the balancer and checked the timing marks. Finally I pulled the distributer (remote mounted coil electronic Hei, big cap) and put the old worn out points distributer back in. Runs much better than it was. Currently has not died at idle again

I still need to find a better solution than the old points but the low compression in the #4 cylinder is more of a concern.

i have no clue all i know its an point truck i will get someone out side to look at the carb when it running to see. but i don't know what kinda of choke it has because the right side of carb has an metal pipe that comes out and runs down to the exhaust manifold
