TPI Debuged and 700R4 Hooking up nicely

Debugged the TPI this weekend and erased the six error codes caused by a wiring SNAFU. Adjusted the detent so the 700R4 would shift and down-shift properly. It hooks up nice now, even with 3:08 gears. Guess I'll be selling the 3:42 gears since I see no point in installing them. Ran wiring for later model Camaro rearview mirror with map/courtesy lights that come on when either door is opened. Time for insurance, tags, inspection and spray-in bed liner to be all done.

Don't sell the 3.42 gears just yet, you may find the 3,07 gears (3.08 was a car gear) to be too tall on the open road. You'll be lugging the engine. MPG will be better with the 3.42 or even the 3.73 gearing.
Also... you need to drive that sucker to a tranny shop and have them adjust the TV cable useing a tranny pressure guage, odds are it'll die if you don't.

As I recall, when I had the differential cover off and counted the teeth the ring gear had 40 teeth and the pinion gear had 13 teeth which works out to 3.076 (40/13). I was always taught to round up when the number past the decimal place one wanted was 5 or greater. Does GM just ignore the following numbers and just stop at the 3.07?

Not sure, been years since I counted teeth on a 1/2 ton... but the trucks had 3.07 gears and the cars had 3.08.
In all reality, it is a moot point anyways, just always kinda bugged me personally...but then again, lots of things bug me that shouldn't.
