seat belt cleaning
I'm putting a set of later model three point seat belts in my burb. they are a light grey color with some light dirt on them. I was thinking soap and hot water with a soft brush, as I don't want to use anything too harsh that might affect the belt material structurally. just wondering if anyone has tried anything else with better results? thanks, Steve

That is your best bet. You can use some stronger cleaners and it probably will not effect the webbing strength. I use that purple cleaner (Castrol something or other. Comes in gallon jug at Walmart, auto section)on them, a brush and rinse. It does a very good job.

I waited until my wife was working on a Saturday and ran them through the dish washer. I did NOT run the retractors through.
I also popped the plastic covers off the female ends.

I srayed mine with (fantastic) a mild household cleaner and scrubbed them with a soft brush ,then rinsed them with a power washer and hung them to dry. It worked great as I have the medium blue belts. all of the grease spots washed off.

You can also just soak them in the sink with laundry detergent, rinse and repeat until they get clean...
