Shackles will get you 1 1/2" or a flip kit will net you about 5".
Those are the cheap options. Otherwise buy new drop springs or have yours de-arched.

Re: rear lowering on 72 gmc w/ leaf springs
I've had my rear leaf springs de-arched before at a spring shop. They charged under 100 bucks and lowered them exactly what I asked for. Look in the phone book under "truck spring shops". Think Peterbilt, not Chevrolet...
Also, measure the truck exactly when deciding how much to lower it. I did my Blazer, and one spring had sagged more than the other over the years. They wound up de-arching one spring about 3/4 of an inch more than the other to level the truck out, side to side. Just mark the springs when you remove them and tell the guys which needs to dropped more.

Re: rear lowering on 72 gmc w/ leaf springs
I need help as well...
Long story, but I have a 68 leaf spring K-10 frame that has been converted to 2wd, and I bought the new leaf spring "mounts", as the 2wd were different than the 4wd... I just wish I knew where they belong.... The rivit pattern is different as well... Please respond if you have any info or any resources!!!!!!!! BTW, ECE is awesome to deal with!! Thanks!

Re: rear lowering on 72 gmc w/ leaf springs
I dont think the 73 up will fit they newer springs are wider. Early Classics sells a 1.5 drop shackle. No one makes a hanger kit for our trucks Yet.
