I want to run all Auto Meter gauges in a 67-72 Chevy truck and I wanted to know if there was any kind of new panel that accepted the gauges? I know Ii will have to run new wires but I can do all of that, its not a big deal I just need the panel that fits the aftermarket A/M gauges. Does anybody know what I mean? Post some pics of installed panels if you can with links to companies also.

I dont know if there is a special panel that you can get. The ones that I have seen with Autometer gauges have been mounted inplace of the stock gauges and used the same pannel.

YEP --- I PUT AUTO METER GAGES IN MINE. 5" & 2 1/16" FIT RIGHT IN A STOCK BEZEL, WITH NO CUTTING.

With a little trimming you can use you stock panel and Autometer gauges. Can email you a full size picture if you want.

you cn check Brothers, i know they once had a panel for our truck with the automter white face gauges, the frame was billet

I think No Limit Engineering makes a billet one that holds autometer guages, but I can't find a picture of it. You might try emailing them for a pic. Thier web address is www.nolimit.net. RB's has one that uses a stock bezel to hold VDO guages. Web address is www.rbsauto.com. They always have in ad in classic trucks magazine with a pic of it. McGaughy's Classic Chevy has one two. I don't know what kind of guages it holds. It's billet also. There is a pic on thier website, www.mcgaughysclassic.com

Frank_Zellar are you just using the plastic face to hold the guages or is there some sorta of backing set up to help hold the guages?

I haven't really look that close at mine yet behind the panel to see what is there

Have you guys seen those new dash clusters from Covan's?
They're molded from abs plastic with a carbon fiber finish.
Right now they have just Camaro/Firebird ones, but the ad says they're building ones for '67-'72 trucks. The ad is in the Nov '02 Super Chevy mag, page 86. Covan's number is 770-667-7684 or email at jcovancctas@aol.com

I have seen several people use a glovebox door. That way you can choose where you put the gauges. You would have to cut the holes yourself though. I have seen a post of this a while back.

New aftermarket dash bezel, with Autometer silver comp gauges. They are 2", and fit right into the hole. These are Autometers best gauges IMO.

I'm going to use autometer phantoms, and will probably end up using a glovebox door if I cant find anything better

Derek 71_ShortStep posted a pick of my dash. The gauges are mounted behind the stock cover instead of through. Some minor tab trimming on the back side and a fabicated plate the mount them to the back of your dash and you're good to go. Total cost about $550 for gauges this way you can use the stock wiper switch and headlight switch.

Some of these ideas you have to modify to fit your wiper and headlight switch so they will fit like the glove box door
