Texas Parts Stash And Hurricane Rita Pics
THIS IS A LONG POST BUT GOOD PICTURES AND A LOT OF REQUESTS
I always thought I had all my hard-to-find and NOS parts in a safe place. I had parts stashed at my shop, behind my house and at my Barn around the corner at our rent property. IT WAS ALL OKAY UNTIL....."Hurricane Rita" came to town. Luckily our houses are okay. The majority of damage was to my shop and barn. The barn, for the time being, was converted to what I call a "Truck Barn". All my stuff appears to be okay. I have some dented step-side rear fenders and a couple of 67-68 chevy grilles that were perfect but are now junk! I am very lucky there isn't more damaged parts. I have both roofs back on and getting ready to start back on the red 69 swb frame off project. That particular truck didn't get a scratch! I haven't touched it since the middle of september. It was sitting beside the white ford and glad the garage door didn't blow in on it. I am down-sizing on a lot of parts and projects. There is a person who wants most of my parts in the barn when I am ready. This man has bought about 30-40 trucks from me in the last couple of years. I told him I would give him first option before I start selling. There is a lot of the NOS and hard-to-find parts that are not for sale: Tacks, tilts, bucket seats, beds etc. Attached are the pictures I took as I was cleaning up. I have posted them for some guys who requested to see my goodies. I am buying a good camera and will be posting al lot of stuff for sale and ebaying a lot of it. I am taking better pictures for some guys that I owe pictures to on my other post, LOTS OF TEXAS PARTS FOR SALE. Sorry for the delay, I am still picking up the pieces of Rita. I will reply ASAP. I may not be able to view this site or my email each and every night. Thanks for your patience. P.S. Tommy, (55454) I wanted to let you know I am taking care of a lot of the parts I have gotten from you over the years. Your refurbished speed warning tack and your cruise control are all high and dry.

Re: Texas Parts Stash And Hurricane Rita Pics
Is any of that stuff for sale?
Hope I don't get flamed for this, but that is a REAL nice ford, hope she didn't suffer any damage. If I didn't love the 67-72 chevys so much, I'd probably have a 73-79 Ford.

Re: Texas Parts Stash And Hurricane Rita Pics
Ain't this what we all live in fear of? I mean, we spend money on "stuff" that we use, or want to use, or keep "just in case". Then, here comes some kind of disaster and POOF! It's history.
Glad to hear you're in good health; sorry to see your stuff take a hit. Saw a picture of an early Vette (56-59) upside down, somewhere along the Gulf Coast (Mississippi?). The losses in New Orleans, alone, have to be staggering, if just figuring the "old car" community. Add to that the personal losses, homes, lives, etc., and it just plain sucks. I gotta daughter in Zephyrhills, FL, who flirted with three in '04, getting kissed by one of them. I love the coast, but knowing that a hurricane is "coming" is little comfort. Hey, when it's a tornado, you don't have time for squat. It's here and it's gone. If anything is left, good. If not, you ain't gonna find it, for the most part. I know that the winds of a 'cane, leave little to be found, too. It's the water, that concerns me. Port Neches....just outside of LA, right? Vider, isn't too far. Good luck to you all!

Re: Texas Parts Stash And Hurricane Rita Pics
Hey Jay Dawg
The steering wheels are pretty nice, but they both have hairline cracks at the top of them. I didn't notice until i really looked hard.$75.00 each plus shipping 67 Chevy Redneck Some of my stuff is for sale. I have several trucks that i am going to build. And i plan on building me a real nice 72 swb cheyenne to keep.My friend bought truck new in 79. I bought it from him in 89 and restored it in 95. Original sheetmetal, except for a tailgate from dealer. I had a couple thousand dollars in Goodmark parts that saved it. I don't have a problem with Ford and Chevy trucks. Robert I live in south east texas. South of Beaumont off of I-10.

Re: Texas Parts Stash And Hurricane Rita Pics
I moved this into the parts section, because of the path this thread was going. We all know any type of FOR SALE will be in the parts section if you are a subscriber or vendor..
Thanks and yes nice collection.. Glad you and your family are alright.

Re: Texas Parts Stash And Hurricane Rita Pics
Do you have a tilt van column with cruise, tach dash, 69 camel or black steering wheel. If you do send some directions from 96 and I10 and a good time to come after the parts, contact number would be good also.
