Ok I need to buy both tie rods ends and both drag links for my 70 Jimmy. The steering wheel can turn over 180 degrees before action happens (also combined with a loose steering box I got to tackle with spot welds if the threads are now worn with all the years of movemenet).... Well anways I'm lookin in LMC and I think they are smokin crack, they want $50 for each end. Have any of you found a quality end for cheaper? Also do 1/2 ton, 3/4 and 1 ton rigs all have the same size ends? Just incase I have to go butcher a rig in a junk yard, but I hope not to do that as those ones will also have wear and tear on them... if u have a checker auto there u shuold b able to get all stering parts u need for your truck. i was able to get all new stering parts for my 64 at checker.

Check at any of the parts stores websites, they will tell you whether it's stocked or special order.

The last time I needed tie rod ends for a`72 K-model,unfortunately,LMC was the only place I found them.That may have changed since then.Luck for me I had a n.o.s. tie rod layin`round.The threads were all stripped on one end.What the heck,try NAPA.

Napa has them - or any other parts store should.

There are differences between tie rod ends. I believe 1/2 & 3/4 tons are the same - but the 1 ton ends are different

I ordered mine from Summit and the are MOOG. The price is right as well. Just call with an application or do your homework and call with part #'s then you'll be sure to have the correct parts.

Looks Like everywhere I check the price is $50 each.. well if I'm going to buy them I might as well buy good ones. I'm turning 40 inch ground hawgs and I dont know if the larger tire would create more wear on my tie rod ends and drag links. So question 2, Anybody know an after market source with beefed up ends that take more abuse... thanks..
