Post throttle cable on dash

I was wondering how rare these are?? I thought someone had hacked my bezel and put in this aftermarket throttle cable, but it looked factory and I had never seen anyone elses pickup with this option till today and a friend of mine told me he had one on his truck... thanks

I think all the '67 and '68 had them...that or it was base equipment on them, and optional on '69 and up.

My 69 has the manual throttle. Pretty handy way to up the rpm's while it is warming up in the winter.

My 72 GMC came with one and was a factory 307 3 spd on the column truck. That was just about the only significant option it had.

I saw a CST Blazer with that throttle. It had a four speed and 350 in it.

Mine appears to have came with the Manual Choke instead of the Throttle, i don't use it since it has the bi-metalic choke on the carb anyway.

The throttle cable is a factory item. It is option number K31. No, it wasn't standard on '67 and '68, that was the choke cable. They were an option in all six years of our pickups.

I have only seen one in person (on my'68), but know there are several board members that have them.

I've seen 2. One on my brother's 72 2wd 4spd truck, the other on a 72 blazer w/auto.

don't pay any attention to my above post, i had my head up my butt again, I just went to dad's place and looked at the 67 again, it's a choke, not a throttle.

Guess I'm the lucky one at having basically worthless options. 1970 4x4 suburban w/auto. 1972 LWB w/auto, both have this option. On the 1970 it is directly below the light switch. On the 1972 direcly below the wiper switch. And no it is not a choke cable.
